Alumni Development Program

The greatest asset any Institution can have is its Alumni. Alumni are the brand ambassador of an Institute and responsible for creating positive vibrations in society. Its partnerships with alumni to ensure that the students have adequate exposure and get naturally and rapidly absorbed into professional roles on completion of their studies. Our Alumni are spread all over the globe. The Institute and its current students can drive large advantages by being well networked with the Alumni. Uswa Alumni Association (UAA) keeps its Alumni in high esteem and shall always look forward for their close association with their Alma Mater.

Aims and Objectives:

• To provide a common platform for all passed out students for social and professional interaction
• To organize annual reunions for developing closer ties
• To organize career counseling sessions for current batches
• To encourage students to achieve high positions.

Life Skills Based Education (LSBE)

The World Health Organization defines life skills as “abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”.

Life Skills Based Education (LSBE) program has successfully completed a cycle since its launch in 2021. The program has been extremely successful in developing interpersonal skills that help students to make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, empathize with others, and cope with and manage their lives in a healthy and productive manner. The aim of the program was to work with the children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds to develop their Life Skills.

In addition to that the program has also created meaningful linkages with technical partners including universities, health facility providers and other related institutions to ensure maximum utilization of available resources and opportunities. The life skills program invite experts and professionals on regular basis to deliver lectures, motivational talks in schools and conduct behavioral counseling sessions for the students. The school counseling program also engages with parents in a meaningful manner. As part of the life skills the life skills educators ensure to conduct behavioral counseling for students and also refers to psychological counseling for professional support. The program advises students individually and in groups, identify their needs and problems and coach them to develop and review their personal plans and career goals. The program also provides support Social Emotional Support to teachers in respective schools.

Psychological Services

Psychological services are designed to provide supports for students who have academic, emotional, or behavioral issues related to their disabilities. As is the case with other related services, these services sometimes are direct services (e.g., evaluating a student) and sometimes they are more indirect (e.g., consulting with a teacher or a parent) in natural settings.
